what do i do if i don’t know how to identify?

Such a great and important question! The terminology used in the LGBTQ+ community helps folks have the words to describe how they feel about themselves and their experiences. But the human experience is expansive and unique, and sometimes it may seem like there is something missing when using one term or label.

That is totally fine and it is definitely okay to use more than one label, forgo labels altogether, or to find a combination of terms that best fits your experiences.

Navigating these parts of ourselves can be very complex and confusing. Take your time and be kind to yourself. It might be good to ask yourself, “How would I feel if I described myself as this?” “Does it fully capture how I want to describe myself?” ---It’s also just as fine to not take on any terms too! Or to change the terminology you want to use if things shift for you over time.
